North Ridge Phoenix

This beautiful 15.1hh chestnut spotted roan colt has added some amazing and superior bloodlines to our stud. North Ridge Phoenix, although bred by ourselves was born and raised by Kristy De Vries in Sedgefield, Western Cape. Kristy and I did a deal and home came Phoenix, with a long neck, high croup and at that stage a spotted blanket. Over the few months that we owned "Phoenix", he roaned dramatically, showing that those genes of Peter Ehlrich (imp. USA), were definitely shining through and grew into a magnificent horse, boasting not only his superior bloodlines, but a breeding match made in heaven and a breeding that I have re-created again for a 2013 foal. In the time we had "Phoenix" he sired two foals for us, both colts. "Phoenix" produced for us, our first triple bred Peter Ehlrich foal, Lulus African Snow Eagle, which can be seen on the 2012 foals page. Lulus African Snow Eagle will be staying on with us as a future breeding prospect. Thank you Phoenix for a job well done. "Phoenix", now affectionately known as "Phix" to his new owner, Lauren Cloete, will soon be seen in the show ring in the Cape. Lauren has recently taken his to his first practise show and he has already walked off with his first rosette... Go Lauren and Phix.
